Like what? Pretty much anything that springs to mind... Books, beer, movies - whatever your interests are. One of the reasons why the Hattrick forum is so popular is you can find topics about everything and anything. This is of course because there are many many users there but you can find players with the same interests as you and start your own little forum within the forum for those who like heavy metal or chess or french cuisine. This is not possible here (yet) but by starting threads like these the forum will come to life, hopefully. All in all, the more people who post the more people will come here - and hopefully they will start posting as well. Death is the road to awe!

Ok, I think I understood what you meant. But I also noticed that the only title under such conversations can be made is the Tavern. Interestingly it is the least active title as well. PtP related topics see more activity. Maybe some work should be done there.

Fix the game and people will stay.
Nothing takes the fun out of playing a game, like when people see percentages getting screwed over in every fight.

Wake up and smell the cappucino...The game is so flawed in percentages, and that comes from someone who have been laughing at the sideline for a lomg time. I stopped caring for this game, when they stopped developing and fixing things that are wrong.

Mod-edit: Watch your language. i almost always check my games to see if i'm lucky or unlucky to see if i could have done better and if my win/loss was deserved or not. i've never gotten more than a 5% discrepancy between then hit chance and the actual hits made. yes sometimes it happens to miss 4-5 times in a row with 80% chance to hit and that really sticks to you for being an unlucky streak. but when you see that in that same game you also hit 30 more consecutive shots you realise it's all good. as i said, analyze your games show us how you constantly get huge discrepancies over many games and maybe you'll convince people the percentages are screwed. until then:

But yet you are still here. Do us all a favor and find another game to play.

Hey Radioactive Man, do you really want to say that? It's among the most deconstructive and uninteresting type of comments. I have seen them so many times in Hattrick forums and never witnessed that such kind of comment actually did any good, at all. I hope you reconsider.

I prefer that he leaves instead of continously making non-constructive inputs on the forum. If he is constantly unhappy with the game (as per this and several other threads) then he should just leave. I mean look at his comment: "Wake up and smell the cappucino...The game is so flawed in percentages, and that comes from someone who have been laughing at the sideline for a lomg time. I stopped caring for this game, when they stopped developing and fixing things that are wrong." There is nothing flawed about the %. He just likes to complain a lot. And I would rather do without. In my opinion this is a great game. There are certainly room for improvement, but this is a FREE game. He didn't pay anything and still he think it is fair to constantly whine about it. So yes, I really want to say that Truth be told this is how I fell about it/him.

You might indeed be right about it's annoying to see someone constantly whine about something he could chose not to be part of, and also "truth be told", but I still believe your comment is just not contributing to the general interest of people here. Anyway, I don't want to take this any further as I'm being off topic for the second time in the same thread.
On the other hand, speaking on topic, I noticed that the language issue is completely forgotten when we talked about expansion. All the "pro" games have language options and speaking of marketing efforts being wasted, PtP currently targets English speaking community only! I know this has been discussed but again, wouldn't the marketing money would be better spend if at least some most widely spoken languages would be included.

Well if my comment makes him leave the game/forum, then it would in my opinion contribute to the general interest of the people here.

Hello everyone, I've only been playing for about a week (and I'm just now starting to realise a few of the stupid things I've already done..lol...(not to worry all grist for the mill)). Anyway..I just came across this thread and was trying to imagine why the forum is not so popular...because frankly I think the the game is great! In an interview that was quoted in another thread, the developpers said (more or less) that ' a lot of games SAY that you don't need to spend too much time online to be successful, but in PtP it's really the case'... Now hat's off! I think that's a perfect angle to ' sell' your game to people who are getting sick of online burn-out (as well as making some days (like SATURDAY!!) something you can really look forward to. But...the one thing that this game doesn't have, that some games get basically ALL of their interest from, is TEAMWORK. Before giving up in despair at the time that was needed (which I couldn't put in!) and the limited tactical options, I played evony. And almost all the enjoyment I got was from the interaction with my alliance members (should I say alliance FRIENDS). If there was some type of (even optional) social/colaborative element to this game I think it would add something....how about something like people organising themselves into teams of five and each player providing one hero for a 'regional tournament....... anyway....just thinking aloud...

Welcome to the game and thank you for your suggestion. We already have things like this planned. We know that player interaction, community and teamwork are major issues before a game will get online success nowadays. We just have to figure out the right way to implement it. Any suggestions? Path to Pelantas - a fantasy browser-based game (PBBG).

Collaborative aspect should not be the decisive factor. I enjoy playing the game all by myself. Hattrick doesn't have it either. I don't say it should never have teamwork stuff at all, but it should be arranged so that you can play the game perfectly without such things too. I fear having to spend a few time online casually and having a team interaction aspect would interfere with each other. There was that interesting suggestion some time ago. It was something like every member of a `team` would send a hero once a week for a battle. That might work out, as you have to plan whom you should send then forget it until you see the results.

League battles. When the league ends after 5 matches, you basically go on to conquest and don't think about the league you where in anymore. That is a pity, and there may be a way to keep the league alive through the whole season. There are 6 teams in every league. From the six teams the best two fighters (ranged and melee) are selected on basis of their battle shields. These 12 heroes are henceforth known as Champions of *league name* The winner of the league earns the title Defender of *league name* and he gets to set the heroes in battle against other leagues in a knock out system that continues until a winning league is found. With a lot of glory at stake and even the possibility of wagering gold on the outcome, it can lead to discussions on the league boards through out the season. Things to consider: XP, Glorypoints and healing. Perhaps clerics will cast Revive spell on participating heroes. A magical spell that temporarely throws them at full hit points, just to return them to their normal hp after the battle. Does the heores participating gain xp? If so, then only the heroes battling or everyone who is a Champion of the league.

hint - other games offer like half year / year membership for around 10-15 Eur
