A Coming Legend
Lately you’ve been pondering what really defines a true hero. As you watch the daily training sessions, you can’t help but wonder who of your men might have the capacities to stand out from the rest – to become one of the greatest heroes of Eidolon. You do have a hunch, though. Some of them show much more potential than others. But what is it that makes them superior to the rest? Is it their sublime arena skills? Their ability to bring home the bloody heads of beasts from the wilderness? Their indefinable knack for accomplishing challenging tasks and quests? Or is it perhaps their charismatic nature?
You have come to the conclusion that the one hero to rise above the rest and receive the ultimate glory must have it all. To become truly legendary, he must make himself a legacy, which is truly extraordinary by excelling in all disciplines.
You have decided that it is about time you put one of your heroes to the ultimate test, and you know of one setting that would be fitting for this particular purpose: ”The Valley of Kings”. You have been very reluctant about sending any of your men to this ancient and truly dangerous place, but now you feel it is the right time – time to test the true potential of one of your men.
The question is, though: Whom do you consider a coming legend?
- Battle skills, bravery and perhaps intelligence I would say but probably high skill in all attributes..?

I just received the same. And yes, it sounds like more or less all skills/attributes are required. Or at least those that would be required for fighting, hunting and questing

The same for me...seems all attributes are required? If so,this is sure a quest for a legend hero...
or maybe all the text hints for an hero who has already showed potential to be a legend, like an already adventurer/veteran/ranger?

Well, it is possible to receive a quest only a certain race can complete so I guess it is possible to receive a quest only a bearer of a title can complete - but I doubt it. Quote:You have come to the conclusion that the one hero to rise above the rest and receive the ultimate glory must have it all. I expect to see several tests in this quest - battle, intelligence, charisma/leadership, bravery, strength, quickness/swiftness etc. I will pick a hero with high attributes in all skills and hope it is enough. Got the same quest, sending this guy on lvl 1 hoping for 20 shields.
Strength 10 Bravery 9 HP 200/200 Dexterity 13 Toughness 11 Morale Soaring Intelligence 11 Swiftness 9 Leadership 10
Figured it best to send a hero with high in basicly all skills, as earlier mentioned it seems likely he will encounter more or less every thinkable challenge. He has also been both hunting, questing and fighting and got good experience on all fields, though i don't think that will have any effect. I don't think he will need a 10 in all skills when so many are required. What do you reckon?

Actually my initial thought was that a hero would probably need a 10 in all skills to get 20 shields on level 1 - Hard to tell from the text though if it is actually ALL attributes that are required, so you might be right...

I had the impression that the more skills that are needed, the lower the requirement for each skill. Don't know if this is right though. I have one hero who have completed "the chosen one", he had 10 or more in all skills except leadership. So maybe you are right!? Otherwise it might be foolish to send the above mentioned hero as bravery and swiftness are very likely to be important in this quest, i guess only time will tell :S.

I am pretty sure you are right about this, so the limit required might not be 10 - that is pure speculation... I look forward to seeing how many shields you get, and to your comments after the quest is resolved. Good luck!

So what is this quest all about - is it a physical or psychological trial... or both? Is leadership required?
I hope some of you have some pointers :o)

Well, he has to be brave. My guy failed at the very first test in this quest because of lack of bravery Death is the road to awe!

I don't think you can pull it without being brave, intelligent and probably also a good leader. I don't see much need for fighting here, but the description definitely does not rule out the need for physical skills.
My orc left on a level 2:
Strength 13 Dexterity 19 Intelligence 12 Leadership 9 Bravery 11 Toughness 15 Swiftness 16
He got 15/15 shields. No black shields... indicates that bravery and intelligence could be decisive. Little orcie here is pretty all-round so there's no telling what made the difference I'm afraid.
Lord Morlak the Sane - Grand Master of the Long-legged, Furry, Little Killer Rabbits with quite long ears.
